Welcome to the African Union Convention on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls – Stakeholders Consultation!

Violence against women and girls is a pervasive global issue that knows no boundaries, affecting individuals across age groups and social strata. From physical and sexual violence to psychological and economic abuse, its impact hinders the realization of their full potential and perpetuates inequality and discrimination.

In efforts to advance, promote, and accelerate actions to prevent, sustainably address, and end the scourge of this crisis, the African Union is developing the AU Convention on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls, in line with the decisions of the 36th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of AU Heads of State and Government held in 2023.

As stakeholders, your input is crucial in shaping this convention, as young women and girls will be its primary beneficiaries. Your contribution will help create an Africa where women and girls are free from all forms of violence – the Africa that We Want!

Please take 10 minutes to fill out the form below and ensure that your voice is heard and considered in the drafting of this historic convention.

Thank you for your participation in building a safer and more equitable future for all women and girls on the continent.
